The Mastery Book is used for the 4th job skills, with it, you are able to maximize the level of the skills. This page mainly tells the ways to get the Mastery Books.

1. You can only buy them for 3m and 5m in leafre and henesys, the pot shop in henesys, and the mastery book merchant in leafre.

2. It is suggested to farm Evo lab coins, and buy the books from the merchant in the lobby. If the process of gaining coins uses up your daily entrance limit, one thing you could do, instead of buying the MB20s and 30s, is buying the old skill specific books, which aren't as expensive (1-5mil). They do have a % success rate (70% for 20, 50% for 30), so you might have to buy more than one book for that skill. 

3. You also can do the Grand Athenaeum ( but you unlock this theme dungeon on level 100), when you finish all the quests, it gives you 1 level 20 and 1 level 30 mastery books for free! Also it gives a Pendant of Spirit too.

4. MapleStory Mastery Books 20 and 30 can be purchased from NPC in 2 locations. Luna in Henesys (potion store) and Illiad in Leafre (directly above Black Friday maid). Mastery Book costs 3 million mesos for level 20, 5 million mesos for level 30.
